Sculpture "Daina" in Sigulda

The monument dates back to 1939. Sculptor Alexandri Briede. The monument was brought from Staburagh and installed in Sigulda in 1980.

In the autumn of 1939, Aleksandra Briede's sculpture "Daina" was installed in Vīgantes Park near the Liepavots stage.

After the flooding of Staburags in December 1966, the sculpture of Daina was installed higher on the bank, where it was soon overturned. In 1980, under the direction of the author, the sculpture was glued together and taken to Sigulda.

Later, a copy of the sculpture "Daina" was made and installed in Vīgantes Park near the stairs that once led to Liepavots and the song stage.
